Parramos (phase II)

Parramos (phase II)

The town of Parramos is one of the most urban areas that Hug It Forward has worked with so far. Their elementary school deals with overcrowding and has resorted to separating classes by morning and evening shifts so that everyone has an opportunity to go to school nearby. Parramos is located between Antigua and the department of Chimaltenango, therefore many children in these areas rely on this public elementary school, but have no space. During the first phase, we were able to work with the people of Parramos to build 3 bottle classrooms. Thanks to the efforts put forth by the community, and the need seen in Parramos, we will be facilitating the construction of 3 additional classrooms made of eco-bricks to benefit the 1500 students and 23 teachers here.
