Sector Mucubalche

For years, the local school in this Guatemalan community has faced significant challenges due to consistent overpopulation. As student enrollment has increased, the school’s infrastructure has struggled to keep up, creating overcrowded learning environments and resource limitations.

Four classes were forced to share classrooms, and one group of students received lessons in a makeshift space along a corridor, shielded only by plastic sheeting and wood. Despite these obstacles, teachers remained committed to providing a quality education for every child, ensuring no student is left without access to learning.

Previous efforts to secure support for additional infrastructure had proven difficult—until now. Thanks to the dedication of the municipal mayor and the partnership with Hug It Forward, the opportunity to build new bottle classrooms has become a reality.

Hug It Forward is honored to support this community in expanding its educational facilities, ensuring students have a safe and dignified space to learn and grow.
