30 Nov Schoolkids in Costa Rica making “bottle boats”!
Although we love building schools with plastic bottles, it is always exciting to see what other people are doing with theirs!
Next week, AIM Research Project will be hosting a bottle boat competition along with their community cleanup in Coco, Costa Rica. These boats have been built over the past few weeks by students at four local schools, and through this experience they’ve been learning about reusing, recycling, and conservation – not to mention figuring out the mechanics of boat-making and developing their creativity!
The kids gathered all of the bottles they’ve used to construct their boats and have had the first-hand opportunity to see how easy it is to turn what is too often labeled “garbage” into something of worth that is entertaining and brings the community together.
Be sure to check out AIM Research Project to see what else they’re up to!
