American Sealants’ Bottle School Fundraiser!

How kids and communities come together to build bottle schools

As you may know, the owners of ASI, Jerry and Heather were able to take an amazing trip about 6 years ago when they went to Guatemala to help build a bottle school for underprivileged children. With ASI, they have been able to travel the world and have seen some amazing places. They have also seen places that are tragic – people living in corrugated tin homes, with dirt floors, no running water etc. The place visited to build a school in Guatemala was no different. Women walked up to three hours one way with a three-gallon container on their head to get water for their home. They have dirt floors and their main food is corn, rice and beans. Children often walk hours to get to school.

The government does not provide schools, but once a school was built, it would provide teachers. It is great to be able to lend a hand up, help break the cycle and help children get an education.

The trip we took forever changed us. I think we got back more than we gave. The people, the culture, the ability to assist others were all very powerful.

At ASI, our crew and culture are much the same. We are always looking for ways to give back, to build community and family. A group of our employees are going to Guatemala in May 2021 to help build a school and make an impact. We have pledged to help raise money for the cause and the community.
