Thanks for visiting our fundraising page!

Our family is traveling to Guatemala this summer to help build a school for children in the San Martin community. This trip is part of Hug It Forward’s ongoing program to help build “bottle schools” in the poorest communities throughout Central America.

As a result of their combined brilliance, compassion, and unbridled motivation to change lives, this organization has developed a method of construction that uses plastic bottles and non-biodegradable trash as building blocks to fill the walls of their schools.  In one effort they both clean up a community, and create a safe environment in which to educate children.

We have already paid for our trip, but we would like to contribute more than just our family’s time and effort.  Mike lost both of his parents at a young age.  Both were lifelong educators.  We would like to raise enough money to build a school in their honor.  100% of your donation goes directly to Bottle Schools and Hug It Forward.  None of the money is used to cover trip expenses.

We are grateful for all donations in any amount.  If you are able to donate $50 or more, our family will send a custom Hug it Forward T-Shirt to you as a thank you gift for your generosity.  Please check out Monique’s Facebook (Monique Turco) page for the T-Shirt design and be sure to let us know what size you want.

Thank you very much for your support.
