Tierra Colorada (phase II)

Tierra Colorada (phase II)

The community of Tierra Colorado, San Martín Jilotepeque has 3 teachers trying to create an engaging learning environment for 60 middle school students that are forced to use the elementary school facilities. Other students have to attend evening classes or are taught outside. The community is collecting bottles in hopes of completing 3 classrooms & a computer lab for middle school level students. The government requires that all middle schools are independent from the elementary school, yet the government hasn’t provided the resources for this. The 3 additional bottle classrooms will help to alleviate the crowding at the elementary school, and allow the middle school in Tierra Colorada to function independently, as it is one of the largest bottle schools projects built to date.
