Pasuc

Pasuc is a community in the department of Totonicapan, within the municipality of Momostenango. With over 85% of the local population speaking K’iche, the school focuses heavily on maintaining local customs and traditions. In K’iche, Pa means between and Suc means a swampy marsh. The community sits on a large elevated area with small rivers on each side giving meaning to the name of the community as it lies between marshes/swamps. According to the last census in 2009, there were 6,362 people living in the community. The school functions on two schedules, it had morning classes and afternoon classes. In the morning there are 600 students, and in the afternoon 250 with a total of 850 students are attending this school.
