Quisaya

Quisaya

Before completing the 3 bottle classrooms, the community of Quisaya had a total of 4 classrooms, and 2 of those classrooms were constructed out of adobe and were built about 40 years ago. The adobe classrooms were intended to be temporary, but the community decided to use them as long as possible until they became aware of the bottle school projects via another community, Panimacac. The members of Quisaya witnessed first-hand the success of the project in Panimacac and decided that they wanted their own bottle school.

The 3 bottle classrooms will be used as follows: 1 classroom will be used for the 1st grade students, 1 classroom will be used for the 2nd and 3rd grade students, 1 classroom will be used for the 6th grade students. Since the bottle school will be filling these needs, the community will be taking down the old and unsafe adobe classrooms.
