Sharing the Bottle School Manual – Manna Project International’s new bottle school

This is an update from a community that has made use of the Hug It Forward open source Bottle School Manual to build their own bottle school!  Hug It Forward has provided the technical advice involved in this project but has not had a “hands on” involvement in this school.  It’s wonderful to see such technology being used even without Hug It Forward’s direct involvement, and we can’t wait to see the end result of this great work that’s being done!

Bottle School Update!

On behalf of our team here in Guate, I’d like to thank all of our amazing donors again for contributing donations towards the Bottle School Project either through the T-shirt campaign or private funds!!

Each time I go to Central, I am constantly amazed by the amount of progress that they’re making in constructing these new classrooms for the students. At the rate they’re going, it’s very easy to see that these classrooms will be ready for the students when the next school year starts in January! It’s an awesome feeling to know that the teachers will be able to utilize more space for their instruction and the students will be able to learn under less cramped conditions. Enrollment for the school will also be able to grow as a result of more space being available. Just lots and lots of great things for the Central school in Chaquijyá. 🙂

Check out the progress we’ve made since our last update! The picture below was taken on September 10th & the following picture after was taken this week — can’t you tell the difference?! 🙂 The walls of the classrooms have started to emerge! The progress is really great. The coolest thing was to see the bottles lined up with the wires and then watching the workers pour cement over it to put it in place.
